To end our 'What is so Special About the USA?' Topic, we had a Topic Day where we made our own silent movies!
Firstly, we research silent movies and learnt about Charlie Chaplin.
After that, we took part in several class drama activities that moved into single drama, and group drama activities. In the activities, we practiced the art of MIME!
Did you know that MIME is most effective if you use exaggerated facial expression and gestures? It is also effective when you use captions on signs, such as BANG or OUCH!
We then planned and created our own silent movies, even adding sound effects. Mrs Staley turned Gagarin's silent movies black and white to really emphasis Charlie Chaplin's inspiration.
Thank you for adults who came to watch our silent movies on Wednesday 17th October, we hope you enjoyed them!
