Music

The Music curriculum at The Crescent Primary provides a diverse range of opportunities for the children.  The school are proud to have been recognised by Music Mark as providing outstanding music provision and we work hard to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to play a musical instrument, participate in concerts and productions and to develop musicianship skills.

At the heart of our school is singing and we are proud to have been awarded the Gold Singup Award.  Singing builds confidence, self-esteem and teamwork and is also good for our mental health.

We have a singing assembly each week for each key stage and we have 5 choirs from Year R to our very own parent choir.  Our children love singing and we perform regularly at school and within our local community.

Every child will have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and every class receives a dedicated music lesson.  From recorders to ukuleles, keyboards to cornets our children practically explore the key concepts of musicianship skills using an instrument.

We also offer individual instrumental lessons in Clarinet, Flute, Brass, Violin, Keyboards, Piano, Drums and Guitar.

Being part of our Community

It is really important to us that our pupils are part of the local community and music is a fabulous way to to do this.  Our choirs take time to go out into the local community and share their love of singing !  This Christmas we had a great time singing in local care homes and at Bambridge.
