Friends Of The Crescent

A very warm welcome from Friends of The Crescent.

This page is all about the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which supports the educational journey of those children attending The Crescent Primary School.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) connected to The Crescent Primary School PTA is The Friends of the Crescent School PTA, known within the school as Friends of The Crescent or  FoTC.

Friends of The Crescent School PTA is an organisation of parents, carers and members of staff working to achieve the best outcomes for all the children attend The Crescent Primary School. FoTC PTA are best known for their fundraising work, fundraising through dress-up/down days, raffles, discos and fayres.

Friends of The Crescent School PTA has a useful social function too; fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to work together. If you are a parent, carer or guardian of a child attending The Crescent Primary School or a teacher or staff member you are very welcome to join the PTA and be part of our community.

Why Do We Raise Funds?

Funds raised by the FOTC are intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school’s main income – often ‘fun things’ that make learning more interesting and exciting.

This is only possible with the help and commitment from FoTC supporters, that’s you the parents/carers and to make this happen we need volunteers.

There are many different ways you can help the FOTC, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. Some of the roles are a little more time-consuming, although also rewarding. If you can’t commit to a big job, look out for things you can do less frequently (e.g. organising a prize for a raffle, running a stall at one of the fayres or baking for a cake sale). You can always support the FOTC by simply turning up to meetings and events.

How are the Friends of the Crescent organised?

As mentioned before all parents, carer or guardian of a child attending The Crescent Primary School or a teacher or staff member you are automatically a member of the FoTC.

FoTC are led by a formal committee of volunteers who are elected at the annual general meeting (AGM). This team of people work closely with the school management to organise events and work towards supporting the school's working vision for the future.
